Tucked between a flaring nose and a mouth of sparkling teeth, lies the great bushy moustache, that men so proudly keep. It could be black, a distinguished grey, or even red or white. The moustache is a moustache, a rather hairy sight.
For the last time this year The Soda Factory will be unleashing their quarterly fundraiser Covers For A Cause. Drawing on the wealth of The Soda Factory’s in-house entertainment talent, musicians and special guests – it promises to be another fantastic evening of live music, paying homage to musical greats, all in the name of an important and relevant charity.
This time the chosen charity will be Movember, the annual, month-long moustache growing marathon. The idea has gained some serious Mo-mentum since it was developed in Australia back in 2003.
The bands will be providing The Soda Factory’s patrons with back to back covers of moustache-powered hits throughout history over the course of the evening. Think Lionel Richie, Freddie Mercury, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Craig David, George Michael and you start to get the picture.
By encouraging men to get involved, Movember aims to increase early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately reduce the number of preventable deaths. Besides annual check-ups, the Movember Foundation encourages men to be aware of family history of cancer and to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
The Soda Factory will donate a gold coin to Movember from every food or drink item sold over the evening.
