Merivale’s The Newport, will be presenting its first Father’s Day Surf Competition in collaboration with the Newport Plus Boardriders. The event will kick off bright and early at 7am at The Peak Platform at Newport Beach (north end of the carpark). Once you and dad have shredded the competition, you can hop in the complimentary Kombi van which will take you back up to The Newport where the winners will be announced and prize-giving will take place. There’s a $10 registration fee per father/child team which will be donated to Mums for Mums, who provide support to local families through times of illness and bereavement. The Newport will also play host to tiered age-group activities for the whole family to enjoy from 10am -2pm. There will be Billy Cart Building + Boules competitions for 8-12 year olds, and face painting and a fishing competition in the pond for the little ones from 3-8 years.
