Sydney Good Food Month, presented by Citi, has announced its 2018 events program celebrating 20 years of unforgettable food events. The flavour-packed, talent-filled program shines a light on the influential chefs and restaurants that have helped shape Australia’s culinary landscape and the talent that will define its bright and exciting future.
2018 will see the return of Hyde Park Palms, Good Food Month’s inspiring and vibrant pop-up restaurant, in the heart of Hyde Park North. From 4-21 October, the custom-made Palm Springs-inspired restaurant will play host to conversations with Australian culinary masters Neil Perry, Bill Granger, Christine Manfield, Stephanie Alexander and Ross Lusted, dinners with hotly-tipped international talent – Italy’s Isabella Potì and LA’s Jason Neroni, pumping nineties and noughties lunches with Andy Bowdy, Victor Liong, Mitch Orr and Kate Reid, a celebration of Australia’s women of culinary influence, flavour-packed pasta battle, and vegan Italian feast.
Kicking off on 4 October, the highly-anticipated Night Noodle Markets return to Hyde Park, setting Sydney alight with the smells, sights and sounds of 40 sizzling stalls over 18 nights. Food-lovers will feast on signature dishes and innovative tastes from the likes of Gelato Messina, Hoy Pinoy, The Original Korean Twist Potato, Mr Bao, Shallot Thai, Donburi Station, Waffleland, Wonderbao, Donut Papi, Eat Fuh, Puffle, Poklol, Chat Thai, Teppanyaki Noodle, The Wagyu, May’s Malaysian Hawker, Bangkok Street Food, Black Star Pastry, Satay Brothers McHenry Avenue, Grumpy G’s Kitchen, Chinese Dim Sum King, N2 Extreme Gelato, Chur Burger, The Hard Style Kitchen and Thai Riffic, served up with dancers, DJs and live music.
Also returning is the popular Citi VIP area at the Night Noodle Markets, hosted by our Presenting Partner Citi. Tanya Smith, Citi’s Chief Customer Officer said experiential dining events like the Night Noodle Markets continue to soar in popularity as Australians enjoy the chance to sample new food and interact with chefs in an informal setting. “In 2017, Citi cardholders alone spent over $140,000 at the Night Noodle markets with close to 300 cardholders returning for a second visit during the 18-day festival”, Smith said.
For the first time at the Night Noodle Markets, and in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Good Food Month, some of Sydney’s top chefs and restaurants will be showcasing their best in a rotating back-to-back pop-up food stall. Further details will be announced in a few weeks.
Festival favourites Let’s Do Lunch presented by Peter Lehmann Wines of the Barossa and the Friends of Good Food Month event series will also make their return, with the line-up of participating restaurants and events to be announced soon.
