Following two years of international success, 2015 marks the official arrival of Negroni Week to Australia.
Negroni Week launched in 2013 as a celebration of one of the world’s great cocktails and an effort to raise money for charitable causes around the world. From 2013 to 2014, Negroni Week grew from more than 100 participating bars to more than 1,300 participating bars around the world and more than $120,000 raised for charities.
Running from 1st through to 7th June, 2015, Negroni Week will see bars and restaurants across Australia take part by taking $1 from each Negroni cocktail or Negroni inspired product sold and donating the funds to a charity of their choice.
Tapping into the rise in popularity and demand of the classic Negroni -‐ an iconic mix of gin, Campari and sweet red vermouth created by chance in Florence around 1920 by Count Camillo Negroni, the Negroni is one of many cocktails which has benefitted from the returning trend of classic cocktails, with many venues also creating their own signature take on this cult classic.
‘A drink for your cause, make it Count’ -‐ with each bar selecting their charity of choice, you can opt to make your drink count through Negroni Week by heading to a bar supporting your cause, or simply opting to order a Negroni at your local. Never has it been so easy or enjoyable to raise money for charity!
